"One of Azerbaijan's key initiatives within the framework of COP29 is the Global Ceasefire Initiative for the future of humanity, and I call on all religious leaders to support this initiative for the salvation of our world and the future of our children," Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade stated at the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, APA reports.
"With this goal in mind, we also propose the establishment of a permanent Advisory Council of Religious Leaders under the UN’s COP framework. Such an entity could implement effective projects of public importance between COP sessions, organize educational events, and produce literature on the topics of religion and environmental ethics. I am confident that the religious platform's proposal will be positively received at the COP29 Baku summit, and that the wisdom and practical recommendations of global religious leaders included in our Summit's final document will offer moral support and valuable contributions to the efforts of state and public figures in this direction," he added.
