"In our country, the strategy envisioning the 2030s for socio-economic development prioritizes the "green economy" as a key focus," Vusal Shikhaliev, Sector Head at the Presidential Administration, said during an event titled "For the sake of sustainable development of Azerbaijan: Presentation of a single platform and national standard on ESG,” APA reports.
He added that Azerbaijan’s strategic vision document outlines five main phases across key pillars: "Three of these have already been realized, and the other two will be carried out in the upcoming period. Today's event suggests that significant progress has been made on ESG in Azerbaijan, and the working group established for this purpose has achieved the set goals. The creation of a unified platform in this direction has enabled achieving real results in a short time. Our main target was for this platform to advance towards more ambitious goals. In line with the agenda of COP29, which will start next week in our country, the adoption of the ESG standard will allow entrepreneurs to align their activities with a strategy tailored with national characteristics."
