On November 5, the next meeting was held at the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) or the purpose of discussing preparatory issues related to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, which will be held in Baku, MES Press Service told APA.
Deputy ministers, heads of relevant structural divisions, and institutions of the Ministry attended the meeting led by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov spoke about the importance of COP29, which was entrusted to Baku by the international community as the next historical success of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and expressed confidence that the prestigious event will be held at a high level.
In this context, the minister once again emphasized the responsibilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and noted that the tasks related to this matter are being carried out systematically and in a planned manner.
Later, during the meeting, detailed reports were heard from the members of the Headquarters established within the Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding the work carried out since the last meeting in accordance with the Action Plan approved by the Ministry for COP29 preparation, and discussions were held on the topic.
Concluding the meeting, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov expressed his confidence that the tasks assigned to the Ministry concerning the event would be carried out at a high level and issued relevant instructions.
