“Within the framework of COP29, Azerbaijan's initiatives in the green economy field will be presented on November 14,” Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, said at the conference titled "For the sake of sustainable development of Azerbaijan: Presentation of a Single Platform and National Standard on ESG,'' APA reports.
He added that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Baku, strengthens Azerbaijan's goals in global climate action: “Banks and other financial institutions, by fulfilling their corporate social responsibility, should consider the importance of environmental protection when allocating credits for ecological projects. The 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Baku, further strengthens Azerbaijan's goals in global climate action. Azerbaijan will continue its leadership in supporting the transition to a 'green economy.' The 'Baku Initiative' presented by the COP29 Presidency is envisioned as a platform for dialogue and experience exchange. Azerbaijan's initiatives in the field of 'green economy' will be presented on November 14 within COP29. These initiatives will make significant contributions to the global 'green economy'.”
