Our society has decided to become a part of the European Union, said the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan, who is on a visit to Latvia, APA reports.
He recalled that a few days ago, the issue of holding a referendum on Armenia's membership in the EU was discussed in parliament.
"I think that in the near future we will have this referendum, and I am sure that our people will say 'yes'," Simonyan added.

"We need support for long-term peace. We have no territorial claims against our neighbors. We share the values of Latvia and EU members. Therefore, we need support to become a full-fledged member of the EU family," Simonyan said.
