He said Patriot missiles target members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Collective Security Treaty Organization and Russia rather than the threats from Syria.
Former commander also said that deployment of Patriot missiles close to the Syrian border poses threat to Armenia’s security.
“We are near the border. Azerbaijan is Turkey’s ally. Armenia is under threat,” he said.
Earlier, addressing NATO, Turkey demanded Patriot missiles for deploying on the Syrian border. NATO gave consent. The missiles have already been sent with experts from Germany and the Netherlands.
