Kyiv-APA. Speaking in an interview with the Inter TV channel, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said that Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko “put herself in opposition to Ukrainian people and the state with her last statements and accusations”, APA reports.
“The problem now is not my attitude to this lady. She announced opposition to the nation and to the state,” the President said. Yushchenko noted that in compliance with the Constitution, it was precisely the Prime Minister and the Government that were responsible for forming an independent economic and financial policy of the state. However, Yulia Timoshenko now tries “to wash her hands of it” and to shift responsibility to others,” the statement says.
The President claimed, “Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko cannot now adequately assess economic and social processes in Ukraine. Small doubt, the situation is not under Premier’s control long ago, but now the time of responsibility has come. Who will be responsible for inflation of 22 percent and the present crisis?”
Small doubt, Yushchenko emphasized, the premier will be responsible for the policy she pursued in the course of the year. “I’m convinced that it is now necessary to form new foundations and principles along with sober-minded forces of the parliament and to work out a separate action plan,” the head of state noted.
“This is an adventurist in politics that will be drowning everybody as she needs only one thing: unlimited power,” Yushchenko said. “She splits the world in two - either you are flunkey or an enemy that is always under anathema. There is no third position,” he said.
