Kazakhstan offers to hold OSCE summit in Astana

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Astana is ready to hold OSCE summit during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship to the organization. APA reports President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the annual meeting with the representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in the country. He said taking into account dynamic change of the situation in the world Kazakhstan had begun to determine its priorities during its OSCE chairmanship.
“The idea of holding the summit for giving new impetus to OSCE’s activity is very important,†he said.
The recent summit of OSCE was held in Lisbon in 1996. It was offered to hold summit at the meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council in Helsinki on December 4-5.
