Vladimir Putin: “Russia is not going to leave Abkhazia and South Ossetiaâ€

Moscow–APA. “Russia was ready to help Georgia to restore its territorial integrity, but Georgia lost this chance invading to South Ossetia, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin answering questions from the citizens in live broadcast, APA reports quoting the Russian sites. Putin said the Georgia’s action was a crime against not only Russia and its citizens, but the Georgian people and its statehood as well. “As a result of this action the Georgia’s territorial integrity was terribly damaged. If this aggression did not take place, Russia would develop its efforts toward restoration of the Georgia’s territorial integrityâ€. The Prime Minister said after the August events, it was clarified that restoration of the Georgia’s territorial integrity is impossible and it needs to take measures to prevent bloodshed in the region in future. “Agreements signed with South Ossetia and Abkhazia are good guarantee for that Russia is not going to leave the regionâ€.
