Georgians displaced from South Ossetia being transferred to military camp in Marneuli

Marneuli. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. 54 Georgian refugee families have been transferred to the military camp, which had been Russia’s military unit before, in 25km from Marneuli. APA’s Georgia bureau reports that these families were displaced from Georgian villages in South Ossetia as a result of the August war. Under the order of Georgian president, 7 buildings destroyed by Russian servicemen have been overhauled.

Chairman of Marneuli municipality Ayvaz Ismayilov told APA that 300 displaced families will be transferred to the military camp. The government has allocated 4 million laris to improve their social position. The refugee families have been provided with necessary goods, new furniture, TV, refrigerator, bedding, dishes and food products.

Other refugee families will be transferred gradually.
