Tbilisi–APA. An exchange of fire took place on border of Georgia with its separatist region Abkhazia. The shootout lasted for 40 minutes, APA reports. The Georgian side said Abkhazian militants fired on the post on the line of contact between the troops by submachine guns and grenade-launchers. The Georgian responded the attack with retaliation fire. No casualties were reported. Members of EU observation mission visited the site after the shootout. Several days ago EU observers visiting the region to investigate murder of Georgian policeman, also came under fires. Georgian officials said the incidents were inspired by the Abkhazian separatists.
