Dmitry Medvedev submits to parliament constitutional changes for extending term of Russian president

Moscow – APA. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has submitted constitutional changes for extending the term of president and parliament. APA reports quoting RIA Novosti that the president offered to extend the term of head of state from 5 to 6 years and the term of parliament to 5 years. The Kremlin said the changes would not be applied to the current president and parliament. Referendum is not required to make changes to the constitution.
