Ukraine to hold official events to commemorate Holodomor 75th anniversary

Kiev â€“APA. Official events will held in Ukraine next week for commemoration of 75th anniversary of 1932-33 famine, known as the Holodomor. Eight heads of state are expected to attend an international forum on Soviet-time famine in Ukraine, which will be held in Kiev on November 22, APA reports quoting UNIAN agency. The presidents of the Baltic States, Poland and Georgia have officially announced they will be attending, and confirmations were still to be received from two European countries. 40 foreign delegations headed by the speakers of parliament, deputy prime ministers and foreign ministers will join the commemoration events. President Victor Yushchenko will start his visit to the Ukraineâ€™s regions to attend the opening of commemoration events there. Ukrainian foreign ministry will hold information campaign throughout the world to spread information about Holodomor. Leading world TV channels will show Holodomor video clips beginning from November 12.
