Mikhail Saakashvili dismisses chiefs of transport and customs bodies

Georgiaâ€™s President Mikhail Saakashvili has dismissed the chief of customs department Zurab Antelidze and acting chief of Georgian National Commission for Transport Regulation Aleksandr Chkhikvadze, APAâ€™s Georgia bureau reports. In the session of the government, Georgian President offered all the Ministers to come to â€œOpizaâ€? terminal and examine its functioning. After visiting the terminal the president immediately issued executive decree on dismissal the chief of customs department Zurab Antelidze.
Besides, the president called National Transport Regulating Commission corruptive institution. President Saakashvili ordered Economy Minister Giorgi Arveladze to immediately close down the Georgian National Commission for Transport Regulation and redistribute the existing staff to other places to avoid unemployment for these people. The chief of the commission Aleksandr Chkhikvadze was taken to hospital after the meeting. His health is reported to be bad. /APA/
