OSCE offers meeting on settlement of Georgian-Ossetian conflict

OSCE Georgian mission offered meeting of Mixed Control Commission on the settlement of Georgian-Ossetian conflict in Istanbul, the commission co-chair from South Ossetia Boris Chochiyev confirmed this to APA’s Georgia bureau. Commission’s several meetings, as well as assembly planned to be held in Yerevan were not held. The situation in the conflict zone remains tense.
South Ossetia’s Press and Information Committee reported that Ossetia considers meeting of Mixed Control Commission important.
“The meeting should make a decision on continuation of joint activity and define the time, place and agenda of the next meeting,� the committee said.
Georgia has not answered yet. Georgia, South Ossetia and Northern Ossetia are represented in the Mixed Control Commission. /APA/
