On November 21 Georgia Interior Ministry special police of 150 men was brought into Samtse-Chavakhetia region where Armenians live, APA reports quoting to the Regnum. Local Armenians held protest actions near Bavra check-point in Georgia-Armenian borders closing Gumruk-Akhalkalak main road on November 20. The protesters demanded to extradite Vahan Chakhalyan, one of the leaders of Vahid Javakhk Democratic Union and to simplify customs rules in borders.
It should be noted that, at present, Chakhalyan’s trial continues. Chavakhetia Armenians declared that the police group was brought into the region for frightening them and to exert psychological pressure on the citizens. /APA/
