Erdogan presents Medvedev copy of Russia-Turkey treaty signed in 1921

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is visiting Moscow, presented Russian President Dmitry Medvedev the copy of the treaty on friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and jubilee stamp issued by the Turkish government on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of this document, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

Erdogan said that on March 16, 1921 Soviet Russia recognized the young Republic of Turkey and guaranteed the inviolability of the common borders.

“The 16th of March is a very important date. 90 years ago Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey signed a treaty on friendship and brotherhood. This document became a turning point in our history. According to the Moscow treaty, our eastern borders were recognized,” he said at the press conference in the Kremlin.
