Sergey Lavrov: We are close to conclude new agreement

Negotiations related to the new Agreement on reduction of strategic offensive arms will be resumed early in February, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov has declared, APA reports quoting Russian NTV television. According to Lavrov, Russia and the United States are close to the conclusion of the agreement and all other issues are easily solvable. Besides it, Russian foreign policy chief underlined that Moscow is ready with Washington to start an activity on setting up a new system of National Missile Defense (NMD).

Â«We are not going to have a teamwork on repulsing any already existing threat because the third position area was reflected in respect of counteraction to something that had already been predetermined by that American administration on the basis of own analysis. But we are going to have teamwork according to whereabouts and kinds of rocket distribution risks, existence of which are necessary to neutralizeÂ», - Sergey Lavrov said.
