Zurab Kharitashvili appointed chairman of Georgian Central Election Commission

Tbilisi-APA. Georgian parliament appointed financier Zurab Kharitashvili the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Georgia. He was appoin6ted to this post with 98 votes at the parliament, APA reports. In the first round, Kharitashvili gained 36 votes, member of the Constitutional Court Otar Sichinava – 19. The opposition rejected to vote claiming that no one of the candidates is suitable for the post of CEC chairman. The parliament also appointed three members of the Central Election Commission, which has 13 members. Georgia will hold municipal elections in the summer.
