Russian and Turkish Prime Ministers meet

Baku – APA. Russia-Turkey trade turnover was reduced by 40 percent due to the world financial crisis, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Moscow, APA reports. “The development of bilateral relations between our countries has effective character, but the world financial crisis negatively impacted on this process. The volume of trade turnover between the countries was $35 billion in 2008, but this figure was reduced by 40% last year. Turkey is one of the main partners of Russia and leaves US and Britain behind for this index”.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Russia-Turkey relations were diversified in the fields of military, economic and cultural cooperation, “This process is strengthened with political will of both countries. I hope that we will restore the volume of trade turnover and reach $100 billion in the next five years”.
