Russia and Georgia to resume flights from Jan. 6

Tbilisi. Nino Zhvania â€“ APA. Russia has authorized the resumption of direct flights from the Georgian capital of Tbilisi as from January 6.

Airzena Georgian Airways’ spokeswoman Nino Girgobiani said the charter flights will be resumed between January 6 and 25.

â€œAt 07.00pm on December 28, we received authorization from Russian Ministry of Transport for flights between December 29 and 30. But it came too late, we will not be able to have flights on these dates,â€ he added.

Flights between Russia and Georgia were cut off in 2006 but restored for some time in 2008. After military hostilities in August 2008, flights were cut off again.
