Georgia’s former Minister of Economy refuses diplomatic post

Tbilisi – APA. Georgia’s former Minister of Economy Lasha Zhvania is not going to return to the diplomatic activity. APA reports that ex-minister said this in his interview to InterpressNyus agency.

Zhvania said he was offered to hold the post of Georgia’s ambassador to India, but he refused the proposal.
“Grigol Vashadze spoke to me 20 minutes before my briefing on August 21 and offered the post of ambassador to India, but I rejected. I am not going to return to diplomacy,” he said.

Ex-minister said he was unaware of the reports that Georgia’s ambassador to Spain Zurab Pololikashvili would be appointed Minister of Economy. Lasha Zhvania said he knew Zurab Pololikashvili personally and characterized him positively.

Former Minister of Economy Lasha Zhvania was dismissed on August 21.
