Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits Abkhazia

Baku – APA. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited Sukhumi on August 12, APA reports quoting Russia media. Putin had talks with the leadership of Georgia’s separatist Abkhazia region.
As a result of the talks, Russia and Abkhazia signed agreement on socio-economic cooperation. According to the agreement, Russia will allocate 10.9 billion rubles on the economic development of Abkhazia in 2010-2011.
Putin told Abkhazian journalists that Russia allocated 2.5 billion rubles in 2009, 10 billion rubles will be allocated on the security of Abkhazia in 2010.
Vladimir Putin also met with the leaders of Abkhazian opposition in Sukhumi.
Georgian Foreign Ministry stated that Russian Prime Minister violated the state bor6der of Georgia by visiting Abkhazia. Official Tbilisi assessed the visit as a “provocation carried out quite in the tradition of Soviet special services”.
