Mikhail Zurabov nominated for Russian ambassador to Ukraine

Baku â€“APA. Adviser to the Russian president, former health minister of Russia Mikhail Zurabov was nominated for the post of Russian ambassador to Ukraine, APA reports quoting Interfax agency. The documents for his appointment were sent to the State Duma committee for CIS activities and relations with compatriots. Chairman of the committee Alexei Ostrovsky said the issue would be reviewed in the next few days and Zurabovâ€™s nomination expected to be approved. He made comments on the protests of some parliamentarians against the Zurabovâ€™s appointment. â€œI consider that Mr. Zurabovâ€™s secluded activity and rare public appearances give him serious chances for the post of ambassador because public statements by some diplomats create problems for themâ€. Ostrovsky thinks that one of the Zurabovâ€™s superiorities is that he well knows the Ukrainian business elite.
