Russian State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov meets with Turkish Parliamentâ€™s Speaker Koksal Toptan

Moscow. R. Metleboglu â€“ APA. On Monday, speaker of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov met with Turkish Parliamentâ€™s Speaker Koksal Toptan in Moscow. Gryzlov underlined the intensive development of Russia-Turkey relations, APA Moscow bureau chief reports. â€œThe highest dialogue and mutual visits of the delegation of various committees confirmed that. Russia is interested in the development of relations with Turkey within the framework of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, OSCE and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization. Russia is the main economic partner of Turkey, which is the indication of serious economic relations. Last year the trade turnover between the countries was more than 33.8 billion USD. Tourism plays important role in the increasing of trade turnover and people diplomacy. Every year nearly three million Russian travel to Turkey for tourismâ€, Gryzlov said there was important cooperation in the field of construction and reminded about the Turkeyâ€™s participation in the construction of Sheremetievo â€“ 3 Airport, Moscow City and thermal power stations in Moscow and Surgut.

The Turkish speaker Koksal Toptan emphasized that the relations between the two countries is developing on rising line. â€œOur cooperation with Russia covers the fields of energy, construction and tourism. I hope our relations with Russian parliament will be strengthened more. It is not casually that the largest inter-parliamentarian group is the Turkish-Russian friendship group. There are 39 parliamentarians in this groupâ€. Koksal Toptan said he invited the State Duma speaker to pay official visit to Turkey and the invitation was acceptedâ€.
