Baku-APA. At least two people have been killed and several others severely injured in a strike by a US killer drone in the troubled northeastern Afghanistan, APA reports quoting Press TV.
Local security officials in the northeastern Kunar Province have confirmed that the deadly attack targeted the Ghaziabad district.
There has been no word from the US-led military troops stationed in the volatile region.
The numerous civilian deaths caused by such attacks have fueled anti-American sentiments across Afghanistan.

US drone strikes have escalated significantly over the past year, fueling anti-American sentiments in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.
Apart from violating the sovereignty of the countries under attack, the drones have left an unaccounted number of civilians dead.
The aerial attacks, initiated by former US president, George W. Bush, have escalated under President Barack Obama. This is while Obama has recently defended the use of the controversial drones as “self-defense.”
Civilian casualties caused by foreign forces have been a major source of tension between Kabul and Washington. Afghan President Hamid Karzai has repeatedly questioned the legality of the US drone strikes and time and again called on Washington to stop the deadly attacks.
The United Nations and several human rights organizations have already identified the US as the world's number one user of "targeted killings" largely due to its drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity remains high in the country.
