Baku – APA. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called o the Security Council to support the agreement reached during the talks between Russia and the United States on the chemical weapons of Syria, said Farhan Haq, Associate Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
“The Secretary-General hopes that the UN Security Council will use this opportunity offered by this agreement.”
The resolution of the UN Security Council will be developed in accordance with the UN regulation. The resolution stresses the use of force in case the requirements are not fulfilled.
As a result of the three-day talks, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S Secretary of State John Kerry have today reached a common agreement on the removal of chemical weapons from Syria.
