Baku-APA. Police in Pakistan's capital of Islamabad foiled a possible terror plot Saturday by arresting two suspected militants and seizing huge quantity of arm, local media reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Dawn TV said the capital police raided a house after receiving a tip-off by residents in Khayaban-i-Kashmir area of the capital.
Officials said the police seized 20 Kalashnikovs, four pistols, remote-controlled spying instruments, a hand-grenade, a wireless set and a huge quantity of explosives and detonators from the house located at the less populated outskirts of the capital.
Moreover, four remote-controlled fiber planes used for the purpose of spying were also seized in the raid.
Bomb disposal squad was also called in to defuse the explosive materials recovered in the raid.
The arrested suspects were shifted to some unknown police for investigations.
This is the second time when police foiled a terror bid in the capital over the last week. Earlier on Aug. 31, police seized an explosives-laden vehicle from Bara Kahu area of the city.
In the past Islamabad witnessed some terrorist attacks including one targeting a five-star hotel in the capital that killed 54 people and injured over 260 others.
