Baku – APA. A day after reports of discovery of a mass grave on a school campus in Manipur came up, remains of 70 people were found in Syria. The mass grave was found in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour on Monday, the state news agency SANA reported. The people were reportedly killed by Islamic State (IS) militants, APA reports quoting India today.
The residents of al-Bahra village found the bodies of 70 people, largely belonging to al-Shuaitat tribe, reported IANS. The tribe had opposed the Sunni radical group when it stormed their areas in that oil-rich province.
The bodies had marks of gunshots and others were found beheaded, Xinhua reported citing SANA.
