Israeli airstrike on Gaza car kills 2 Palestinians

Baku-APA. Two Palestinian militants were killed on Friday as an Israeli war jet struck their vehicle in Shatti (Beach) refugee camp in western Gaza city, medics and witnesses said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Ayman Sahabani, Gaza emergency chief told Xinhua that the bodies of the killed militants were brought to a local hospital, while witnesses claimed that at least one rocket was fired at a car running inside the refugee camp.

Sources in the Islamic Jihad militant group in Gaza said the two dead men are their members.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson confirmed this attack in a statement, saying the two dead men were operatives with a terror cell that always launched rocket attacks into southern Israel.

The statement said the two were involved in rocket attacks launched at Israel in the passing week, as well as several other terror strikes against his country over the past few years, adding that they were also planning further attacks against Israel and its civilians.

IDF Spokesperson Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said the military will continue to target those who carried out attacks against Israel " with patience, determination and precision."

Earlier this month, three Israeli teenagers disappeared in the West Bank. Israel accused Hamas movement for being involved, which led to a growing tension between Gaza militants and Israel in the coastal area.

Militants have been firing more rockets into Israel, while the Israeli war jets were hitting back on both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad training facilities, as well as their rockets launching sites.

Earlier on Friday an explosive device was detonated near the border with the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported. No injuries were reported. The IDF retaliated with tank fire. According to the Palestinian media outlets, four people were injured in the IDF's hit-back.
