ISIL captured Turkmen settlement of Tuzhurmatun in Iraq

Tuzhurmatun village, located in the suburb of Salahaddin, after several days of fierce fighting came under the control of ISIL fighters. The main fight took place around villages of Chardakhly, Biravchyly, Karanaz and including the Tuzhurmatun and predominantly inhabited by Turkmens. ISIL division subjected to intense fire from heavy artillery these villages located on important strategic heights. Villagers for two hours kept storming militants, however, exhausted their ammunition were forced to leave the village.

Reported a large number of killed in the assault. Tuzhurmatun population are (150000 people live) masse leaving town.

Note that the militants of ISIL before capturing the city Telafer, shot more than 5000 Turkmens. Population left the city in a panic, found shelter in Sanjar.
