The US blacklisted on Friday eight companies in Iran's petrochemical industry. Most of the companies are private. The petrochemical companies owned or controlled by the Iranian government that are on the Treasury Department list include Bandar Imam Petrochemical Co, Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Co and Mobin Petrochemical Co.
"Iran will certainly pursue the case at international circles," chairman of the parliament's Petrochemical Committee Moayyed Hosseini Sadr told FNA on Saturday.
He said that embargoed companies are not state-owned, and added that Americans have imposed sanctions on Iran's private petrochemical companies because some of their shareholders are affiliated to the Iranian government.
