On Sunday, Khatami gave an interview to Ettelaat newspaper. After this, a criminal case was filed against the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Mahmoud Doaei.
Doaei said that the newspaper disseminated the reports about Khatami upon special correspondence with Ayatollah Khomeini, and his consent: “After a day, chairman of Iran’s Advisory Board, former president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani told me such treatment towards me is sourced by angry and has no logic and legal basis.”
