Baku – APA. Iran halved the volume of gas exported to Turkey.
Iran reduced daily gas export to Turkey from 28-30 million cubic metresto 14-15 million cubic metres, the Turkish newspaper Haberturk reported.
Iran said that it was caused by the increase in domestic demand due to cold weather.

Turkey buys 6 bcm natural gas from Iran every year, which makes 18 percent of Turkey's gas import. Iran has earlier reduced the gas export to Turkey citing domestic demand. Turkey has appealed to the court in this regard.
