Baku-APA. An earthquake measuring 5.8 Richter scale jolted Gorontalo of Indonesia earlier Sunday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said here, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The quake hit at 05 : 28 a.m. Jakarta time Sunday (2228 GMT Saturday) and centered at 40 km southwest Boalmo of Gorontalo and with the depth at 111 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua via phone.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake- hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
