UAE strongly condemns targeting of ADNOC vessel in Strait of Hormuz

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the targeting of a vessel belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

This was stated in a statement issued by the Ministry.

The UAE Foreign Ministry described the targeting of the vessel while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz as a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817.

The statement emphasized that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ actions of targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a means of exerting economic pressure or intimidation constitute maritime piracy.
