Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shared on Monday that work is underway to send the Mecca Defense Alliance agreement to the parliament "in the coming days." The deal among Türkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia was reached back in August, aiming to boost collective security and promote the region's peace and stability. Approval from the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye is needed to ratify it, APA's bureau in Türkiye reports.
Addressing the nation, Erdogan also "strongly condemned" Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia, especially those on the King Khalid International Airport, which resulted in casualties. "Türkiye stands with Saudi Arabia and its Saudi brothers and sisters in the face of these unlawful and inhumane attacks. We want peace and stability to prevail throughout our region," he said.
