Türkiye has invested in a number of international energy projects, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said during a panel discussion held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Antalya reports.
According to him, the Southern Gas Corridor is one of the important and effective projects in this regard.
The minister noted that Türkiye invests approximately 10 gigawatts annually in solar and wind energy, as well as in other energy sectors.
According to him, the energy transition is inevitable and already underway, but it should be carried out under the principle of a “smart energy transition.”
Alparslan Bayraktar said that Türkiye promotes maximum use of renewable energy resources, while also planning to increase the capacity of nuclear energy in power generation.
According to him, the goal is to achieve nuclear energy production capacity of 20 gigawatts by 2050.
Alparslan Bayraktar added that oil and gas will continue to remain in the energy balance in the near future, and Türkiye is investing in production projects both onshore and offshore.
