Tokyo plans to train Ukrainian sappers in Poland in July

The Japanese authorities are coordinating the issue of holding training sessions for Ukrainian sappers in Poland in July using modern equipment for detecting mines, according to the Sankei Shimbun newspaper on April 28, APA reports citing TASS.

The training is organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the involvement of Cambodian experts, government sources said.

At the end of April, Tokyo handed over to Kyiv four Japanese ALIS installations, which make it possible to find mines with a high degree of accuracy. They will be used for training specialists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. These devices are actively used in Cambodia, which has significant experience in the disposal of unexploded ordnance after years of civil wars and armed clashes.
