Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has signed a decree protecting the rights of Kurds in the Arab Republic, text of the document has been published by the administration of the Syrian leader, APA reports.
According to the decree, the Kurdish language is recognized as a state language and may be taught in schools in regions where Kurds constitute a significant part of the population.
In addition, Syria’s transitional government has committed to granting Syrian citizenship to all persons of Kurdish origin living in the country.
