A passenger plane made an emergency landing at the Hong Kong international airport due to a tire explosion on Friday, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) said, citing the police, APA reports.
According to RTHK, the flight was from Hong Kong to Los Angeles. Already during takeoff, one of the landing gear overheated and exploded, as a result of which the crew decided to return to Hong Kong.
After landing, the crew released the escape slides. During the evacuation from the aircraft, passengers were injured. Five men and 13 women were hospitalized. The rest of the passengers were taken to the hotel. There were 300 people on board the Boeing 777-300.
