In a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed that unreasonable US demands prevented an agreement in weekend talks between Washington and Tehran in Pakistan, APA reports citing CNN.
“We have clearly stated the ceasefire conditions and remain committed to them,” Pezeshkian told Macron according to Iranian state media.
“The US excessive demands prevented reaching an agreement… Iran will continue negotiations only within the framework of international law.”
“Threatening the Strait of Hormuz will have widespread consequences for the world,” Pezeshkian added referring to Trump’s threat to blockade Iranian ports along the strait.
