Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Iranian media says, APA reports.

During the call, Pezeshkian informed Macron about the Iran-US talks held in Pakistan.

The Iranian President noted that despite reaching understandings at the expert level between the parties, excessive demands by US officials and a lack of sufficient political will prevented the finalization of an agreement.

Pezeshkian stated that Iran is ready for negotiations within the framework of protecting national interests and sovereignty.

The Iranian President emphasized that his country has always sought to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that any threat to this region would have wide-ranging impacts on global trade.

“At the same time, Iran is ready for all scenarios within the framework of its national interests. Iran’s conditions regarding the ceasefire have been clearly announced, and contrary to some claims, it was the Iranian side that demanded the precise implementation of obligations, and this has also been confirmed by Pakistani officials,” Pezeshkian added.
