"We will never submit to Indian hegemony. The sooner they understand this, the better it will be for both regional and global peace," said Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, in an interview with Anadolu Agency, APA reports.
Commenting on the recent tensions with India, Chaudhry emphasized that New Delhi had failed to provide any evidence linking Pakistan to the recent attack in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir. He accused India of exploiting the incident for political gain under the guise of counterterrorism.
“Terrorism, radicalism, and hatred are India’s internal problems,” he said, adding that pressure against Muslims and Sikhs in India is fueling these issues.
Pakistan is a Victim of Terrorism, India is a Sponsor
Chaudhry noted that Pakistan is currently the biggest victim of terrorism in the world. Since January 2024, over 3,700 terrorist attacks have occurred in Pakistan, resulting in 1,314 deaths and more than 2,500 injuries, some involving loss of limbs.
He accused India of supporting and funding terrorism within Pakistan and cited the March 11 train attack in Balochistan that killed over 20 people, claiming that the group responsible, the Balochistan Liberation Army, had publicly sought military aid from India. He added that some Indian politicians openly back such groups.
According to Chaudhry, Pakistan has submitted substantial evidence of Indian involvement in terrorism to the International Court of Justice. He claimed that Indian intelligence agencies train and fund terrorist groups to carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
No Connection to the Pahalgam Attack
Chaudhry firmly denied any Pakistani involvement in the Pahalgam incident, attributing such violence to India’s internal repressive policies. He reiterated that the Kashmir issue is an international dispute that must be resolved in line with UN resolutions and the will of the local people. He accused India of altering the region’s demographics in an attempt to turn the conflict into an internal matter.
India’s Goal is Political Manipulation
Referring to the 2019 Pulwama attack, Chaudhry said India is using such incidents for internal political purposes. He warned that the ruling party continues to exploit such events to serve its political interests.
We Will Respond Firmly to Provocations
While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, including adherence to the May 10 ceasefire, Chaudhry stressed that any aggression by India would be met with a swift and firm response. He emphasized that war between two nuclear powers would be “madness” and lead to mutual destruction.
We Shot Down Five Indian Jets
Chaudhry stated that during the latest escalation, Pakistan downed five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft. He said only one Pakistani aircraft sustained minor damage and would return to service shortly. “The world knows those jets were downed, even if India won’t admit it. If necessary, we can name the pilots and reveal the hospitals they’re in,” he added.
“Pakistan Cannot Be Intimidated”
“India is not the United States, and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel, and Pakistan is not Palestine,” Chaudhry declared. “Pakistan can never be intimidated, coerced, or forced into submission. The sooner India realizes this, the better it will be for peace in the region and beyond.”
