North Korea released a statement via its state news agency, KCNA, saying that it will continue to take necessary action until the United States eliminates military threats against it, APA reports citing Teletrader.
In its statement, North Korea also accused the US of "illegal interference" in its internal affairs by demanding denuclearisation. Pyongyang noted that its status of a nuclear state will remain as an "undeniable" fact.
The US and North Korea have been at odds over North Korea's nuclear weapons program, with the US insisting that the North give up its nuclear arsenal. Pyongyang, however, argued that the weapons are a necessary deterrent against foreign aggression.
