Iran’s Foreign Ministry: Ceasefire in Lebanon is one of the key conditions in talks with the US

Halting the war in Lebanon was also an important condition in the ceasefire agreement. However, the other side violated its commitments from the outset, spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmaeil Baghaei said at a press conference today, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

Responding to a question about whether Iran would stop supporting its allies in Lebanon and the Resistance Front, he stated that Iran has always supported Lebanon and Hezbollah.

“Halting the war in Lebanon was put forward as one of the main conditions in the ceasefire agreement. Pakistan, as a mediator, had also clearly addressed this issue. The matter was seriously followed in Islamabad and continues to be monitored. Any agreement has two sides. If one side violates its commitments, the other side has the right to reduce its obligations accordingly. Claims that Iran is indifferent to other fronts are completely false,” the diplomat emphasized.
