Iran's first vice president Mohammad Mokhber announced King Salman's invitation to President Raisi to visit Riyadh and said: "Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has favorably received an invitation from Saudi Arabia's King Salman to visit the kingdom and hopefully good things will happen.", APA reports citing Iranpress.

Saudi Arabia has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi for an official visit - just over a week since the countries agreed to restore diplomatic relations.

Mokhber stated: Mr. Raisi's main strategy since the first day he was elected as the president has been to improve relations with the countries of the region.

He added: The is a pre-planned visit, which is being done now.

During the negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing, the two countries agreed on Friday, March 10, to resume diplomatic relations after 7 years.

According to the agreement between the two countries, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia will meet each other for a maximum of two months to pave the way for the exchange of ambassadors and the reopening of embassies, as well as other requirements for the resumption of relations.
