Iran has said it has no intention of sending enriched uranium to the United States, describing the issue as not open for negotiation.
According to Iran’s state-affiliated Iranian Students News Agency, Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said Tehran does not plan to transfer its enriched uranium stockpile to Washington.
He added that while there has been a limited exchange of messages between Iran and United States, the demands put forward by the US are considered by Tehran to be excessively strict and unacceptable.
The comments underline continuing tensions between the two countries, as efforts to revive dialogue over Iran’s nuclear programme remain uncertain.
