Iran imposes sanctions on the EU and UK

The Islamic Republic of Iran has imposed retaliatory sanctions on 17 individuals and 4 institutions from the European Union and the UK, said the Iranian Foreign Ministry in a statement, APA reports.

According to information, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs included 17 individuals and four institutions from the EU and the United Kingdom in the sanctions list after receiving approval from the relevant institutions and working within the framework of the relevant rules and sanctions mechanisms.

According to the statement, these people and organizations were sanctioned "for supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, interfering in Iran's internal affairs, inciting violence and riots, spreading false information about Iran, and participating in the strengthening of cruel sanctions against the Iranian people."

According to an Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement, the sanctions include a visa ban and the inability of sanctioned individuals to enter Iranian territory, the freezing of bank accounts in the country's financial and banking system, and the freezing of assets within the jurisdiction.
