An investigation is underway after 21 people were killed in a fire at a Beijing hospital that forced the evacuation of dozens of patients, APA reports citing AlJazeera.
Emergency response teams were first alerted to the blaze at the Beijing Changfeng Hospital in the capital’s Fengtai District just before 1pm (05:00 GMT) on Tuesday.
The fire was extinguished about half an hour later and rescue efforts continued for about two more hours.
The fire broke out in the private hospital’s inpatient department and 71 patients were evacuated.
